WELCOME TO INSPIRATION ROVER
Aiming to Inspire a Generation through STEM and Robotics
WHO WE ARE
Inspiration Rover was born out of a group of students' passion for electronics at the University of Derby, wanting to challenge themselves further on an exciting project, separate from their studies. Backed by the IET and other core sponsors, the project incorporates an educational outreach program that has engaged secondary school students from around Derbyshire to take part in the project with the overall aim to inspire them into a career within the STEM subjects. After a successful first year, we are planning ahead for an even better second year, with more exciting opportunities and challenges to be expected.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE COMMUNITY
It's no secret that there is a shortage of people pursuing careers in STEM disciplines, and our main core value is to utilise the rover that we have built, to inspire an entire generation to follow a career in STEM subjects. Our partnership with Derbyshire County Council, has allowed us to work with secondary school students from around Derbyshire and we have seen major success in our first year as many of the students we have worked with, have chosen to take on STEM subjects at GCSE level. With further backing and support, we hope to increase the scope of the project and inspire people across the country and globe.
